Enhanced documentation proves itself in Las Vegas

Enhanced-doc-VHSFive UHS acute care hospitals in Las Vegas, Nevada, are the most recent conversions to Crossings’ Enhanced Dynamic Documentation tool. “Hundreds of dynamic documentation notes are being generated daily at each hospital and feedback from physicians from all major specialties has been consistently positive,” says Ori Lotan, MD, Chief Medical Information Officer at UHS.

The most recent conversions occurred at Spring Valley Hospital and Centennial Hills Hospital, both part of The Valley Health System. “One busy doctor completed 33 notes using enhanced documentation in one day, with most of the documents being discharge summaries, histories and physicals,” says Dr. Lotan. Here are other comments from clinicians:

“I love this system. It’s really the best thing you’ve introduced Cerner-wise.” – Orthopedic Surgeon

“I am so glad you showed me this. Knowing we can save operative reports as templates and personalize them to each patient will save me a lot of time.” – OB/GYN

Results* show voluntary transcription reduced by 50 to 90 percent after implementing Crossings’ Enhanced Documentation solution.
*Statistics apply to 11 completed conversions.
